AI Duo, a Taiwanese based bassoon, vocal and piano duo dedicated to inspiring and bringing diverse repertoire together, drawn from the contemporary western music as well as traditional Taiwanese culture, and to supporting the mission of nonprofits by organizing and performing benefit concerts.
Our Story
When musicians Anastasia Yao and Ivy I Fang Lee met at National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan in 2015, it sparked a lasting relationship. The pair quickly established a close friendship around their shared passion for music and its potential to bring greater harmony to the world. The result was AI Duo, and a mission to diversity through music, community, collaboration, and celebration.
The bassoonist Anastasia and soprano & pianist Ivy formed the duo in 2019. AI Duo’s repertoire is diverse, and both musicians delight in exploring both classical, contemporary, and popular music forms. In addition to performing the works of contemporary composers, they collaborate with the new generation of Taiwanese arrangers to give a new look to both Taiwanese folk songs and contemporary pop music.
